Grossglockner High Alpine Road

General information

The 48 km long pass road leads with 36 bends deep into the center of Austria's largest national park, whose 1.800 km² area extends to the federal states of Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia. The highest point on the mountain road is the Edelweißspitze, which is just over 2.500 m. Numerous three thousand meter peaks open up to the astonished view, but the largest of them all is the Grossglockner. At 3.798 m, the striking mountain towers over the entire region and is also the highest peak in the Alpine republic. Every year visitors from all over the world are drawn to the Großglockner High Alpine Road to the center of the national park: Pay a visit to His Majesty, the Großglockner!
