Abtenau is known for its impressive natural surroundings and an extensive network of hiking trails with over 300 kilometersHowever, many of these trails are not maintained by established organizations such as the Alpine Club, mountain rescue, or nature lovers – this is precisely where [the project] comes in. our hiking trails association
The association's goal is to preserve and maintain the extensive network of hiking trails in Abtenau. This network of trails is a valuable asset for locals and visitors alike and an essential component of the tourist offerings.
Maintaining and caring for these paths requires a great deal of time and commitment – both from the municipality and from volunteers. Volunteers involved with the association receive compensation for their time and expenses, including mileage and materials. They are also insured through the association while volunteering.
Since the ongoing costs for the trail maintenance program are considerable, the association is appealing to everyone who cares about this network of trails – whether working in tourism or enjoying hiking and cycling themselves. A small contribution can make a big difference: the annual membership fee is only €25.
