Documentation Obersalzberg

General information

The Obersalzberg documentation offers the opportunity to deal with the history of Obersalzberg and the history of National Socialism at the historical location. In addition to the permanent exhibition, this happens with temporary exhibitions, lectures and events as well as an extensive range of educational opportunities. The Obersalzberg documentation serves to come to terms with the Nazi past.
Obersalzberg, Hitler's holiday home since 1923, was expanded into the second seat of government next to Berlin after 1933. Because of this function and importance of the location, the documentation is not limited to the local history and excerpts of historical reality, but rather combines the history of Obersalzberg with a representation of the central manifestations of the National Socialist dictatorship.
